WHAT DO WE OFFER?
The 3 winning scenarios will be included in the program of Portal 11 Convention
PoRtaL Program
The 3 winning scenarios will be included in the program of Portal 11, facilitated either by the organizers or by the authors themselves - if you’re willing to join us personally in Budapest!
Runs in 3 Countries
The 3 winning scenarios will be translated in autumn 2023 and 3 runs will be organized locally in Portal countries - in Hungary, Poland and Croatia.
Published Online
The 3 winning scenarios will be published in an online scenario manual in 4 languages accessible for the entire Portal community
CRITERIA
We accept both new Scenarios and those which have already been written and tested. “Edu” and not “edu” larps are equally welcome, as long as they fulfill the following criteria:
Engaging and Meaningful
The game provides an engaging and meaningful experience for the players.
Skills and
Knowledge
Knowledge
The game gives an opportunity to develop concrete skills, knowledge and attitudes.
Adaptable & Scalable
The game can be adapted to various locations and for a scalable number of players.
Effective
The scenario uses effectively the resources and energy needed to organize the game.
Clarity
The scenario is designed in a way clear to read, understand and organize the game
Easy to print
The format of the scenario makes it easy to print and to translate it to other languages.
Length Limit
The game lasts a maximum of 6 hours, including workshops and debriefing sessions
Learning
The scenario answers the question “what can you learn by playing this game?”, whether in the main design document or in an added file.
Portal Larp Scenario Contest
EXPECTED FORMAT
We want to provide you with creative freedom and include various types of scenarios. Therefore, each Scenario must be submitted as a link to an online folder on Google Drive, which contains all materials and information needed to organize the game (up to 1GB, up to 50 files).
REQUIRED ELEMENTS FOR YOU SUBMISSION
Each Scenario must contain at least the following elements:

Player Guide
Short description of the game for the players.

Game Master's Guide
Short description of the game for people who may organize and facilitate it.

Accessible Instructions
Instructions which enable non-larpers to organize the game by themselves.

Workshops, briefing and debriefing
Instructions on carrying out workshops, briefing and debriefing sessions
5
Cover Design
1080x1080p graphic in PNG format which can be used to promote the game in social media
ADDITIONAL ELEMENTS
Each Scenario may additionally contain:

Sound & Light Design
Instruction on the using of sound and lighting effects,

Details & Charts
Excels, charts, diagrams, info-graphics,

Costume Guidelines & Worldbuilding Texts
Setting and costume instructions or moodboards,

Music
music playlists, preferably in downloadable format
5
Graphic Design Assets
Printouts, posters, character cards, etc,

Sky is the Limit
of all the crazy stuff that you, dear Designer, can imagine!
